Alcaston Poultry Farm, Church Stretton
220 Kw Rooftop Solar PV array

The project at Alcaston Poultry Farm, Church Stretton for Howard and Jack Goodwin was for a further extension on shed 2 at the site.

Complimenting an earlier system fitted by us back in 2013, the new system required a dedicated AC feed from the mains room to power the SMA Core 1 inverter located internally within the plant room.

FUTURE PROOFED

With the existing system already benefitting from monitoring on a different RS 485 platform (functioning but now obsolete) we future proofed the new system with an SMA HM 2.0 device meaning that when the older inverters are gradually replaced over the coming years, they will be able to join the new monitoring network. This project was subject to an export limitation scheme from the National Grid as the site was already very close to its network capacity. Further information about export limitation and Re-powering existing systems to enable clients to boost their generation can be found in the System upgrades page of the website.
