Case Study: ASH WASTE SERVICES
Rowley Regis, Sandwell, Birmingham. 100 Kw Rooftop Solar PV array
Ash Waste Services are one of the UK’s fastest growing companies specialising in waste transfer and recycling. As part of the companies continued growth and development they recently acquired this new operating facility over in Rowley Regis, Birmingham.
GREEN CREDENTIALS
Keen as ever to develop their ongoing green credentials and progression in renewable technologies, ASH Waste Services wanted to ‘future proof’ themselves and hedge against ever increasing electricity costs as well as look to the future with battery storage in mind. Solar PV Battery Systems were delighted to once again tender and win the contract to execute this prestigious 100 Kw Solar PV rooftop scheme. The system was installed in just one week from start to finish, causing minimal disruption to the sites day to day operation and activities.
Generating over 86,000 Kwh’rs per annum -versus an expected operational annual consumption of half of this amount, battery storage is due to be implemented to facilitate a bank of EV (Electric vehicle) charging points as the company moves its vehicle fleet over to electric HGV trucks in the near future.
Given the constraints many business will soon find applicable in ‘inner city’ clean traffic zones, ASH Waste services have once again shown themselves to be a forward thinking company.
